## Shipping Cost Calculator

Estimate shipping with your quoted price per kg or first-weight and additional-weight prices.

### Worked example: first and additional weight

- **Inputs**: Assume actual weight 3.1 kg, dimensions 10 × 10 × 10 cm and divisor 6000; round up to 0.5 kg. First 1 kg: CNY 50; each additional 0.5 kg: CNY 12.50.
- **Calculation**: Volumetric weight = 10 × 10 × 10 ÷ 6000 ≈ 0.167 kg. Use the greater weight, 3.1 kg, then round up to 3.5 kg. (3.5 − 1) ÷ 0.5 = 5 additional steps; 50 + 5 × 12.50 = 112.50.
- **Result**: Estimated shipping cost: CNY 112.50.

Hypothetical prices. Extra charges and taxes are excluded.

## Volumetric Weight Calculator

Divide length × width × height by the divisor used for your shipment.

### Worked example: volumetric weight

- **Inputs**: Assume a box measuring 50 × 40 × 30 cm and a divisor of 6000.
- **Calculation**: 50 × 40 × 30 ÷ 6000 = 10.
- **Result**: Volumetric weight: 10 kg.

The divisor is not a universal Cainiao rule; use the one quoted for your shipment.

## Chargeable Weight Calculator

Chargeable weight is the larger of actual weight and volumetric weight.

### Worked example: chargeable weight

- **Inputs**: Assume actual weight 3 kg, dimensions 50 × 40 × 30 cm and divisor 6000, with no rounding.
- **Calculation**: Volumetric weight = 50 × 40 × 30 ÷ 6000 = 10 kg; max(3, 10) = 10.
- **Result**: Chargeable weight: 10 kg.

Your service may also apply rounding or a minimum chargeable weight.

## Package Dimensions Calculator

Calculate the volume of a parcel before choosing packaging.

### Worked example: parcel volume

- **Inputs**: Assume a box measuring 50 × 40 × 30 cm.
- **Calculation**: 50 × 40 × 30 = 60000 cm³; 60000 ÷ 1000000 = 0.06 m³; 60000 ÷ 1000 = 60 litres.
- **Result**: Package volume: 60000 cm³ = 0.06 m³ = 60 litres.

Volume alone does not determine shipping cost.

## Consolidation Savings Calculator

Compare the total quoted price for separate parcels and one consolidated parcel.

### Worked example: consolidation costs more

- **Inputs**: Assume separate shipments total CNY 80 and consolidation totals CNY 100, covering the same parcels and charges.
- **Calculation**: 80 − 100 = −20; the consolidated total is 20 higher.
- **Result**: Consolidation costs CNY 20 more; shipping separately is cheaper.

Compare totals in the same currency, for the same destination and service, with the same charges included, such as packing and handling.

## Before you buy, confirm three things

1. Each item can ship on your route, and your address is within its delivery area.
2. The route’s price, billing rules, estimated delivery and tax handling.
3. The China warehouse address assigned to that route.

Check them in CAINIAO App or with official support. Calculators and examples on this site are estimates; the order in the app shows the final charge.

The volumetric divisor, rounding unit and pricing method depend on the selected route and weight band. Values shown here, including divisors 5000 and 6000 and rounding by 0.5 kg, are examples, not Cainiao-wide rules. Enter the divisor, rounding unit and first/additional-weight prices from your actual quote. This tool excludes fuel, remote-area and oversize surcharges, minimum chargeable weights, duties and import tax. Calculations run in your browser.
